Movie stars and pop singers have millions of dollars, lots of downtime, and the highest levels of healthcare at their disposal for personal treatment and recovery. So when they re-emerge several months later to do it over again, it appears to the general public that it's all fine.

As the baseline continues to rise, that is being used as the new “low” which makes waves look smaller.
