I used to work for the federal government. This is exactly the type of email that we would have assumed was a phishing attempt or testing us to see if we’d get suckered.
I am hearing from gov employees who got the OPM email but won't open it because it seems so shady. Things are going great.

Both halves of my family came through Ellis Island in the last 100ish years. My husband just got his citizenship a few years ago. Are we no longer Americans? Is my daughter not American as he wasn’t a citizen when she born?

If not by birth, then what makes *me* a citizen? I'm white? I can trace my roots to a Revolutionary soldier?

What’s frustrating about this is it’s still a dishonest framing. It’s not just insurance workers who would be impacted. Look at the collective freak out trying to lower the pay for anesthesiologists…imagine that but for every medical specialty. We aren’t prepared for that conversation.
