I will coordinate with the Portland Bureau of Transportation to see what we can do to save this Free Fridge. I know what a vital resource they can be for families that are struggling. I will continue to center the voices and experiences of unhoused people in our Council discussions.

I am very grateful that unhoused ppl trust me enough to share their experiences with me. It makes me a more knowledgeable advocate. I'm also grateful our housed neighbors find creative ways to help. The economic injustices we see on our streets will take all of us stepping up in big & small ways.

My planned (& unplanned) adventures in D3 today included: having lunch with unhoused youths, getting an impromptu notification that a Free Fridge was cited for removal and talking to my constituent about it, helping a man find his dog on the way to the Free Fridge, and then going to an estate sale.

My ordinance to ban rental price fixing through algorithmic software passed out of committee today and will have its 1st hearing to the full Council on April 2nd with opportunities for public testimony!

As a treat to myself I went to see the cherry blossoms 🌸 the vibes were immaculate ✨

The evening Council session continues to be a success too. Community members stayed with us till 10:15pm when the discussion ended and the vote closed. I once only dreamed of this level of engagement in government. Charter change really made a difference & we can do even more to make it accessible

Our resolution to investigate the franchise agreement with Zenith Oil passed 11-1 last night! Our community deserves accountability and transparency, I hope we delivered just a small piece of that last night.
