We have something in the bank. In the 90s it would have already afforded us a house with some considerable amortization for a couple of years. Now, thay whatever we have could barely cover 20% of the downpayment required for the typical housing loan.

man, Kubuntu after 1 year, while very good in terms of UI (Plasma KDE desktop is a gem), just doesn't cut it. Not fitting for my current setup with a network drive. Poor speeds that I can't open my comm files.
Idk why yet but Linux Mint MATE / Xfce are faring better in terms of network speed :/
