A golden glow illuminates the leaves and casts long, lean shadows in an ancient woodland. Sights like this can bring a sense of calm tranquillity.

Frustratingly we know the solutions to all this. Obviously stop building on flood plains right next to rivers that’s obviously stupid, but also we need to be aggressively restoring woodland on our valleys, peat in the uplands, reintroducing beavers across the country.

Around 1.7 billion items of plastic packaging are thrown away in the UK every week. Shampoo, body wash and liquid hand wash add to this plastic pile-up - so switching from bottles to bars is better for the environment. Eight natural soap bars to try: bit.ly/46DTTGY

For $2,000 you could plant ~750 UK trees, with a survival rate of 80% guaranteed. Most of them will do 1tCO2e eventually, and more importantly it’s not just helping #ClimateAction but #BiodiversityCrisis #FloodMitigation #FoodSecurity and creates new green spaces to wander about. shop.protect.earth

If we want future generations to have biodiverse oceans full of life. We, EU citizens need to drastically reduce our fish intake.

The best thing you could do for the ocean is to stop consuming fish and seafood altogether.

EU officials and MS's should prioritize protecting our oceans better.
⚠️ Today is #EndOfFishDay in the EU🐟 As of today, the EU has theoretically exhausted its domestic seafood production for the year & from now until the end of 2025 will rely on imported fish & other seafood products. #RethinkFisheries Read our #PressRelease 👉 seas-at-risk.org/press-releas...

When kitchen sponges like these break down, they release microplastics that end up in the sea – harming marine environments and the animals that live there. And they can't be recycled, so remain in landfill for 100s of years. For eco-friendly sponges see: bit.ly/42rwUOX

Millions of disposable coffee cups are used in the UK every day. It’s estimated only 1% of these are recycled. Disposable cups release microplastics, and create litter in urban and rural areas.
Using a reusable cup is one solution:

Please help Protect Earth plant more trees and hedgerows all over the U.K.

We’ve got a few projects in the pipeline (~50,000 trees, 4km of hedgerow) that could still be rescued this planting season (winter) if we can get enough of you on monthly donations. shop.protect.earth
