I saw a coyote on my drive tonight, so that was cool.

Nothing like stopping for gas in beautiful Seffner, home of man-eating sinkholes, to really make you question why you're still living in Florida.

Me: A full-grown, 37 year-old adult with a job, mortgage, and a few grey hairs.

My sister, introducing me: And this is my baaaaaby sister!

Me: ... I'm baby.

I gifted my youngest niece a genuine Labubu (one of the mini ones) today and you'd've thought I was the second coming of Christ. 😂

I love doing Operation Santa every year. If you're like me and you don't have a whole lot of extra to go around, you can choose an individual letter as opposed to a whole family of letters. And, you can filter by state!

The bone-deep ennui of existing in someone else's guestroom where you're as welcome as a mouse in a cupboard.

The cathartic experience of briefly getting away from your extended family to go to the bookstore and blast classic rock in your car alone.

Baristas are locking arms in front of lines of trucks.

This distribution center is Starbucks’ largest on the East Coast, which is why we’re showing up to send a message. We're ready to continue escalating our ULP strike until Starbucks does the right thing.

I genuinely have considered changing my last name just to have something all my own. Still might.
normalize name changes for anyone tbh. even if you're not trans, you should be able to just choose a name you feel good about and not have it be a big deal

The key takeaway from this should be that the people who produced and enabled a 16 year-old girl to sing that song are gross. Like, it's blatantly predatory. If you're gonna criticize Nuzzi, criticize her for her lack of ethics, not for being thrown in the predatory music machine as a child.
olivia nuzzi discourse still sexist and misogynist af even if there’s a funny song people found on myspace

asking is tough, but i'm hanging on by a thread, my housing situation is imploding, and i'm struggling to afford groceries/meds/etc 😓 if anyone is able to contribute, every little bit would be a huge help to this queer trans person rn 🫂🫶

My oldest brother is 47 today and I can't wait to remind him about that roughly every ten minutes while I cackle like a jackass.

The look of abject horror on my Brother-in-Law's face as I pulled out my jar of instant coffee for breakfast has made this whole trip worth it.

NEW: a contractor is paying random people $300 to physically track immigrants for ICE. They're given addresses, vehicles, told to monitor the target. That information then goes back up to ICE. These are not licensed private investigators; members of the public

Reminder from your friendly neighborhood emotional wreck: If you feel like you're about to start crying for no reason in the middle of the afternoon, your blood sugar is probably low. Have a snack.

79-year-old Paul Bojerski was born to Polish parents in a WWII German refugee camp. His family legally emigrated to the U.S. when he was 5.

He’s been taken by ICE in Florida.

Paul Bojerski never gained official residency, but he checked in regularly with ICE for years. Then in July, at age 79, he was detained and sent to Alligator Alcatraz.

The lesson life is teaching me recently is that I can't dread tomorrow. What will happen will happen whether I dread it or not. And if tomorrow doesn't come, the dread never helped anyway.

I love poetry for the same reason I love looking at paintings:

It may be a bold, towering statement with swathes of color. Or it could be an intricate abstract with meaning hidden between two disparate words. Perhaps it's deceptively simple, but that's its beauty. And sometimes it's just pretty.

If anyone needs phone numbers for shops that can repair a 2012 Diesel Ford F-350 Superduty in the Wasilla/Houston, Alaska area, hit me up. I just found a list of phone numbers from 2013 in an old notebook that I'm sure are still relevant.
