NEW: ICE has a plan to lease offices across the US as part of a secret, months-long expansion campaign.

Today, @wired.com is publishing dozens of those locations. Many are near schools, medical offices, and places of worship.

Vital work from @leahfeiger.bsky.social that I'm proud to publish.

My mom has vision problems, but she likes to write text messages to herself as notes. Well, today, she's in a meeting and accidentally started sending all her notes to me. So I let her know I'm keeping them safe in my inbox.

"Don't worry about the Discord thing, it's only NSFW servers and channels that will require age verification! :)"

I could remove every speck of risque imagery/topics from my community and there's still a 50% chance we'd get flagged just because we're openly queer.

It's not actually about the kids.

Story: My dad picked up some colorful candles at a garage sale. They were meant to make bottle art, so he let us play with them (and a lighter). We stuck them in a glass bottle. As we burnt them, pressure built in the bottle and essentially created a bottle rocket that shot into the ceiling.
This is like the time when my brother and I explained how the black spot on the kitchen ceiling got there, well after our parents sold the house. (There was a small explosion.)

Me: - those school carnivals were sketchy. Do you remember the one time when I was climbing off a rinkydink a kiddie coaster and the operator leaned on the 'go' switch and I got thrown onto the platform? That was funny.

Mom: ... *w h a t ?*

Me: ... oh we never told you that story. Oh I fucked up.

Last year I traveled all the way to rural Vietnam to officiate a friend's wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony that mixed cultures and language, and was a celebration of the best of humanity.

He just sent me this post and said "this is how you lost the war."

Every study shows that being in a jail or prison, no matter how "nice" or whatever, shortens your lifespan. It does. So the government is taking years off the lives of people, including children, when it opts to put them in jail.
