I just went down a rabbit hole and remembered my all-time favorite cassette when I was seven years old: The Best of Frank Mills. I also took it to the hospital to listen to during one of my MRIs, and the nurses were baffled that I didn't bring, like, a Barney cassette. 😂
Dad told me stories about his time at Woodstock and made me listen to CCR, Black Sabbath, and Jethro Tull. And the Michigan State fight song. Mom got me into contemporary piano and listened to A LOT of Manheim Steamroller. They both were into polka, so we listened to that on Sunday mornings.
How did your parents influence your taste in music?

I was listening to Alan Cumming's rendition of Wilkommen while getting ready for bed. Got too enthusiastic while traipsing dramatically around my house. I tripped on my scale in the bathroom, fell into the wall, tripped over the cat, and threw my phone across the room, creating quite the racket.

what's it gonna take to completely wipe clean the democratic establishment and have leadership that isn't constantly nostalgically pining for a different republican era?
BRO, WHAT THE FUCK IS THE MATTER WITH YOU?!

I have many opinions about the commodification of Catholicism through AI and apps like Hallow (ugh), but I haven't gotten it sorted out in my head yet. But when a fellow student in my confirmation class laments not being able to ask ChatGPT a deeply personal and spiritual question, I despair.

I quit my job today because my mental health had been so atrocious due to my debilitating CPTSD. I now currently have no income, no health insurance, all that fun stuff. I would REALLY appreciate some shares and help. My commissions are also open.

That feel when you pour your heart and soul into a submission, and now you just get to wait for the form rejection.

This is why I keep telling people, tell the kids to leave that AI shit alone.

They already aren’t very good at math and should be using a calculator, not AI.

Poets: Do you ever look back at your old drafts and go "Wait... I wrote that? Wow, that's pretty good!" Just, like, completely shocked at yourself. 😂

Franzi Schimmer captured this Grizzly bear in Brooks Falls, Alaska just floating along, tippy-tapping down the river, browsing the salmon.

Prior to hibernation, up to 40% of a bear's body mass is fat, which is less dense than water (~0.9 g/cm^2), so the murder-monster is also a floaty-boaty.

"Oh! The local philharmonic is having a Brahms concert! I should buy tickets!" I say, conveniently forgetting that the last Brahms concert I attended, I fell asleep within the first 15 minutes.
