CW/TW r word, ableism

The thing is, this is how he sees disabled people, its not about the left, its about the disabled.

And the fact him and trump are descimating disability rights should terrify us into action.
This is real.

And I have never seen the competence, morals, standards and communication strategy of any government collapse so fast.

How to find climate data and science the Trump administration doesn’t want you to see
Several groups are working to preserve webpages, tools and data – some of which have already gone missing from government webpages since the start of the Trump administration.

elon’s filling DOGE with kids young enough to still list eagle scout and CM piano level 10 on their resumes
Gavin Kliger, Elon's DOGE hitler youth shutting down USAID, is now indirectly responsible for the deaths of thousands of children. His Instagram appears to be @gkliger. He's scrubbing his online footprint.

Here's an archived copy of Kliger's resume: web.archive.org/web/20240418...

New — USAID staff received an email just a few minutes ago letting them know HQ would be closed to all personnel Monday. It’s likely some employees will miss the overnight email, show up and be turned away.

It was sent by Gavin Kliger, one of the young guys at DOGE doing Musk’s bidding.

Eiren Caffall has created such a beautiful literary gem here. What do we reach for, what do we save, when the world around us collapses? And what does that say about who we are, collectively and individually?
“Mother and Father watched it on their laptops” I highly recommend this book!

The Novel About U.S. Politics So Outrageous It Nearly Wasn’t Published (Gift Article)
Robert Coover’s “The Public Burning” was met with bafflement and awe when it appeared in 1977. Reality has finally caught up to his masterpiece.

I recently read Timothy Snyder’s “On Tyranny”, and I think it should be required reading in our schools. Here are some of my favorite excerpts. #booksky

Feels like I'm just posting to the void since I'm just getting started here, but why not. I write a weekly newsletter, and this week I write about how far away from reading and critical thinking we’ve come. It's lacking in our education, COVID learning loss, social media attention spans, all of it.
We need to get back to reading and critical thinking
Because 2024 feels different from 2016.

If anyone’s looking for alternatives to GoodReads, I highly recommend StoryGraph. It’s owned by a black woman, and the platform is so much more accessible and easy to use.
