When I started freelancing for The Age & SMH in 2003, I could get $1200–$1600 for a feature. Even a decade ago I'd get roughly $850. In 2022 I got $700 – & that's GOOD PAY nowadays

After two weeks in #newcaledonia we have finished our in-country reporting for the @walkleys.bsky.social Sean Dorney Grant for Pacific journalism.

We will be moving to the post-production phase of the grant and publishing these works in the near future so plenty of posts to follow. 🌴🏝️🇳🇨
