I'll say this btw, despite Luoli's... unfortunate... localized name, the show is pretty clear of creepy shit and fanservice in general, so if you want Asian animation without that, this is a pretty decent pick.

The really troublesome thing with these glorified chatbots is that they're really impressive specifically to the people who lack the competence to figure out whether the output is actually good or not
"vibe coding" really is the worst development in software of all time. "woah what if you could just tell the computer what to do and then it did that" that's called writing code. code is the language that tells the computer what to do.

The reason for this is in part because toku is live action and working with child actors is... challenging, but the net result (whether intentional) is that shows for boys are about how you keep having agency and power into adulthood, and show for girls are about eternal infantilization.

This Sapphic September, someone brought up the idea of stories that aren't about queer joy but queer *power*--this is open to interpretation, whether it's about power fantasies or otherwise. I think this is a fantastic lens to frame stories that, for me, work better than 'queer joy'.
