It’s Treasure Island. The one you have to pass over to get between Oakland and SF. They built a shitton of housing and it’s one of the few places younger folks can afford to live in reasonable conditions.

I can’t reply on threadreader but lol at the plain & fancy examples. Almost all of the small- & at least 1 if not 3 of the large fancy buildings were built by Fernando Nelson. Distinctive! Crowd pleasing! Vernacular! (He had never trained as an architect & made up his front designs!)

LA County developed a publicly owned and open source voting system that supports 18 different languages. It's ADA compliant. (Though a second generation voting machine is coming out to make it easier for low vision and blind voters).
No Diebold, etc. no proprietary black box software
