Content designer. Big love for collaboration across divides, active listening, inclusion and accessibility.

I'm a Humanist. I support the NHS 💙. I'm fun at parties.
The UK local and mayoral election results of last week have brought me back to an inescapable reality.

Progressives (I'm using that label as broadly as i can), as a group, are incredibly bad at communicating.

Loved these table cards to get your order at the Storm In A Teacup boat café at Watermouth Harbour.

Coffee and ice cream stop along today's Devon coast walk.

Incidentally, it's Mullholland Drive time.

I'm hugely looking forward to understanding it perfectly.

I'm starting a low FODMAP diet today. I'm dreading the restriction.

But I am at last accepting it as the best way to investigate whatever is up with my gut.

But, as a patient, the support and delivery of info around gut health problems is… baaaad.

One of these days, I'm going to want to talk about David Lynch's particular use of light and sound.

Specifically, why I think it's different from how other filmmakers use them.

I'm about to see David Lynch's Inland Empire for the first time, at a packed Watershed Cinema.

Wish me luck!

Practically, all Dyson products are bad design.

There. Said it.

And it feels good to acknowledge some objective reality.

I've just watched Blue Road: The Edna O'Brien Story.

'Twas magnificent.

I'm Jonti, and I love stories—

watching them, reading them, hearing them… inferring them!

Telling stories, mind you, well, I'll need a little time—to get my words in order. You understand.

If I could have done it on your website, I would have done it on your website. I will not call you unless you have forced my hand.
I love anytime I try to call a customer support number 90% of it is recordings being like "go to our website just do this on the website get off the fucking phone and go through our extremely unhelpful website that will not answer your question at all"

A fun fact about Pringles.

An even more fun fact about them is that they went to court to argue (successfully!) that Pringles don't contain enough potata to be a potato crisp (or chip), so they could pay less tax.

I do love that moustache though.

Today in "Wait, WHAT?" I learned that Gene Wolfe — recondite, abstruse SF/F author Gene Wolfe — invented the machine that makes Pringles potato chips. It's on the company's own FAQ, which also implies his signature mustache may have inspired their ad mascot. www.pringles.com/en-us/faq.html

I was motivated to see the film Lee after reading this in The Conversation.

It reminded me of first learning about Lee Miller's photography aged 18, wanting to record the world I saw.

I've just been to see the wonderful film Lee.

About the extraordinary photographer and photojournalist Lee Miller, it is moving, captivating, resolute.

I didn't expect to cry. But that's the wondrousness of art that makes things feel real.

Is it really so sad to order a meal for two, then take half of it home in container (I refuse to say 'doggy bag', I refuse to say 'doggy bag')?

And do rhetorical questions need question marks?
