Sophy Ridge to someone from Trussell: "Can I just ask, demand for food banks is going up and this is often seen as a negative thing basically, that it shows that more people are in need turning to food banks. Could you flip that and say its a good thing..."

er, no.

The ticket pricing for the World Cup is a disgrace. Making fans pay for all eight games up front is a disgrace.

The game is being taken from the people and sold back to them at an unforgivable premium.

World Cup ticket prices are hideously, unforgivably expensive
Watching your country play shouldn’t be the pursuit solely of the super-rich - this is so far beyond the pale it has to cause a line in the sand

New YouGov polling. A monumental failure of our political class to educate, a monumental failure of our media to report fairly, for a generation

How a new deal was ever in consideration under these circumstances is a mark on Arsenal, and that’s even before the public backing from his manager (“after everything he’s been through”) and decisions to make him the cover star of programmes and hero content on social channels while this was known.

Thomas Partey guilty of five counts of rape. FIVE.

The club knew and looked the other way. If we’re in anyway serious about football being inclusive or protecting women in society, Arteta should resign.

On LBC @zoejardiniere.bsky.social lists 3 previous instances where military aircraft have been targeted by campaigners in order to prevent them being used in war crimes, and she describes the govt banning Palestine Action as terrorists as an abuse of state power.

Well said.

The disparity btwn what’s actually happening in Los Angeles and the way it’s being mischaracterized is one of the biggest stress tests of modern media in recent memory. Botted socials, AI, old clips, declining literacy—it’s like seeing a broken emergency response system hit by a storm.

Grim stuff. Depressing as much as it is infuriating. The irony being that the vast majority of those ‘protesting’ are…… the ancestors of immigrants.

Astonishing attendance for today's Dublin derby between Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers. A new League of Ireland record. Great to see clubs engaging meaningfully with communities and fans getting behind them in numbers.
