you don't have to explain cryptography, or phishing, or credential stuffing, but you do have to explain things like: what is the thing that's being stored, what is its purpose, what are my obligations to retain and present it, what happens if I lose it, can I have several of them across my devices

and also what the upsides are: what effort will this save me, what problems does it solve, etc. I need some actual basis to make a decision beyond just guessing. especially if guessing wrong means I lose my account
