Current state of things. The new mattress is indeed ultra firm. I'm sleeping well but my legs, especially my thighs, ache. So I've spent more money on a mattress topper. Obviously I also got some sheets, pillows and pillow cases too.

Today's peeve that has bubbles to the surface: long threads on services such as this. Write a blog post and link to it already. I don't want my feed to suddenly become a one man show of numbered posts.

Driving home the other day the sky was beautiful, possibly transforming. The sun's last rays turning the horizon pink, fading to white and then a pale blue sky above it.

Not doing well on my first attempt at an exercise challenge (Garmin). 15h of walking in Feb. I've done 45m. I've probably done more but I didn't have the auto detection enabled for walking at first :(

A long but worthy read. Never underestimate a good PTA.
Update on my life: Last year, I joined my kids' school's PTA, because they needed a treasurer and I'm good enough with numbers. It was a straightforward, self-contained job: balancing the checkbook for an organization that only did a few fundraisers each year.

I thought of something to post earlier. But I forgot.

You may not like it, but Leah's right. There's a reason the Prodigal Son is a parable in almost every culture. when someone experiencing cognitive dissonance comes to you, you have two choices: embrace them, and win them over forever; or reject them, ensuring they never again question their beliefs.

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

Spent Christmas with dad and his wife. I was ill so on Sunday I contacted 111 and dad went out to pick me up a prescription. I've had the last antibiotic this evening and will have the last steroids tomorrow morning. Whilst I am no longer a feverish phlegm monster the cough hasn't yet disappeared :(

Chas and Dave are the only people in the history of the world who put their heads through a seaside photo comedic stand and look exactly the same as they did beforehand.
