Sage blinked a few times, eyes wide with surprise that fell into a sneering smile a moment later. "Whatever do you mean?" he said. "You wanted me dead," Recluse shouted. "You hated my existence here. And now I'm 'fascinating' to you? Why?" Sage's smile only grew. "I've seen awe," he said. "Adoration. Adulation, even. But not from you. You're the only one who's looked at me with anger. Unfiltered hatred." He closed the gap between them once more, smiling at him. "I want to see how it changes when you realize that I'm right," he said.

Snippet of an upcoming fic chapter. Text: Recluse squints up at him. "I have to watch the Spire because of your actions," he says. "This is not a journey I can take lightly." Sage presses a hand to his forehead. "No, no," he says, "you could just open a portal and—" He stops, his eyes growing wider as he realizes something. His eyes flick towards Recluse, then across his robes, stopping at the dirt clinging to the edges of the fabric. "Did you WALK here?" he says, voice rising in pitch with every word. Recluse's brow pinches in confusion. "Of course I did," he says. In a blink, blue and gold and white fills Recluse's vision. He stumbles backwards as he sees his own surprised expression reflected in Sage's monocle as the other leans in, considering him like a specimen under a magnifying glass. "All of that sheer magical power and you walked here?" Sage says, starting to orbit Recluse in a slow circle. "The week's notice I gave you was a formality, I never considered… But that does explain…"

"but art should be accessible" it is, you can learn to draw, paint, collage, sculpt, make pixels. right now, starting today. art has never been more accessible monetarily nor physically than it is now in this age. access to artist labor and machine production is not an accessibility issue.
