Following up on our Highland Railway 'Big Goods' 4-6-0 is the last of David Jones' designs, the Loch Class 4-4-0.
15 of these handsome locos were built in 1896, with a further 3 in 1917. The last was withdrawn in 1950.

Planning approval for Dart+ Coastal North will help “revolutionise commuting in the Greater Dublin Area”
Irish Rail has secured a railway order for its Dart+ Coastal North project, which will extend the electrified suburban rail network from Malahide to Drogheda. An Coimisiún Pleanála today published approval notices for the Railway Order application which was lodged in July 2024. The route is one of the simpler Dart+ projects. The project will allow for the nearly doubling of capacity from about 4,800 to 8,800 passengers at peak hour/direction when complete between between Malahide and Drogheda, with different levels of increase between Malahide and Dublin City Centre.
