In my #ironsworn #starforged game, I'm unabashedly naming things after nerdy heros. So our hero, Echo, starts out doing repo work on Imahara Station. She's in hiding from her family, whose patriarch, Mark Mercer (@matthewmercer.bsky.social) has sent her older brother Cameron to find her.

Sadly, finances aren't lining up for me to attend #PAXU this year. I bought a badge hoping things would line up, but the expense of a hotel or airBnB and y'know, food, is more than I can swing right now. I'll miss seeing everyone, and plan for next year.

Continuing work on my #ironsworn #starforged game. As a theme, I'm naming things after folks in the nerdosphere. Two of the Founder Clans are named for Morgan Ellis and Rob Weiland, for example. The patriarch of the Bad Guys is, with utmost respect, @markmercervo.bsky.social. #solottrpg #ttrpg

I would rather live next door to someone who speaks another language than live next door to someone who doesn’t want to live near people who speak other languages. I know nothing about Person A but I know person B is a shitbird.
Vance says it is "totally reasonable and acceptable" for people to not want to live next door to people who speak a different language than they do

Ironsworn: Starforged (sci-fi solo to from @shawntomkin.bsky.social) seems to be the hottest iron in the creative fire. My Forge has a cassette futurism aesthetic & a synthwave soundtrack. The Terminus may be clean & neat, but we’re on the run in the Outlands.

My day job makes a regular gaming schedule really difficult, so I'm putting my energy into solo games I can fit into stolen moments. Worldbuilding this weekend on some Sundered Isles, the seafaring setting for #ironsworn #starforged by @shawntomkin.bsky.social.

Just so I can try to get my calendar in order, when is the next No Kings rally? Same time next month? Two weeks? This Saturday?
Surely it's not a one and done thing.

When I moved back here I was disappointed to find the government infested with MAGA idiots, Maggats, if you will. It's been embarrassing; I try not to bring it up at all.

but the kids are all right.

When I hear "The mechanics get out of the way," it either means "I couldn't deal with these rules, and when I ignored them the story didn't break, so..." OR "I've learned these rules well enough to use them without breaking my flow."

Ideally, you want the latter. But I think it's often the former.

I was looking up synonyms for 'hills' and discovered that "an isolated hill or mountain rising abruptly from a plain" is called an 'inselberg'.

Remember, folks. Your incelbergs should be isolated.

My tl;dr on WotC making another version of Dark Sun is: let them. It feels like a team scoring on their own goal in a playoff game, but it is their time, money, and effort to waste. Who knows, it might avoid the yawning, gaping pitfalls and be... all right.

Not holding my breath, but it's possible

If ghosts happen because a soul has unfinished business, folks with ADHD are just straight-up guaranteed. Worse, we--of course I'm including myself--won't be able to move on, because we won't be able to remember everything on the to-do list. Remembering all the things we have to do is on the List!

Whoever is loading the dishwasher is doing it right.

Faction Goals didn’t work for me until last night, when I realized the faction needs a Face first, a person to represent/embody the faction for the PCs. Who this Face is colors the goals they set, plus if those goal oppose the PCs, you get a villain for the PCs to interact with & work against.

Interesting evening. Tried watching @transplanarrpg.bsky.social for the first time, but found myself banned immediately. Must have gotten on someone's ban list somehow? Dunno. I'm sure it was a great show, and y'all should go check them out.
