280/845: DC K.O. #2 (2025)

As events go, I think DC K.O. represents the widest disconnect between marketing and publishing since Heroes in Crisis. There are some people at DC who understand the appeal of a tournament arc, and others who are either unaware or unwilling to earnestly translate that.

Small characters are cannon fodder, populars get the good stuff, the ones you think are gonna win, wins, the others get butchered. We have big stake battle royale so the personal conflict of a one on one is pushed aside for a gore fest
Is rather disappointing because of what the format allows

The reason why anime torunament arcs are so good is beacuse they can be impredictable, the protagonist doesn´t need to come up on top, small characters can shine, personal conflicts are put on front
Goku only won one, Midorya didn´t even reach semi finals.
DC K.O. took every other route

I want to believe that´s a reference to the first issue of the Simpsons Comic.
Becoming a giant in the power plant, underwear joke, I just need a Fantastic Four refernce like the cover and it will be definitive

Agree, just from the base that Freddy´s powers immediatly allows for creative settings, and unique ways to finish his victims. Even if some are more chessy and ridiculous than others they´re always allowed to step into something new, while there´s so much you can do with a zombie with a machete.
