I’m out in the field this week. I just spoke to my cat Belle on FaceTime. She very vocally told me I purchased the wrong greenies on Amazon. I’m pretty sure this is the only reason she acknowledged I was on the phone. Trust me when I say this tabby is trouble lol.

To reiterate another way: grants pay for people’s jobs. This has a direct link to our economy.
I think some people hear “grants” and think that without them, scientists and government workers just have less stuff to play with at work. But grants fund salaries for students, academics, researchers, and people who work in all areas of public service.

“Pausing” grants means people don’t eat.
White House pauses all federal grants, sparking confusion
The Trump administration has put a hold on all federal financial grants and loans, affecting tens of billions of dollars in payments.

A reminder that Los Angeles had its hottest summer in history last year. Southern California has received just 2% of "normal" rainfall during the current "rainy" season.

These fires are a direct result of a warming & drying atmosphere caused by burning fossil fuels.

We are in a climate emergency.
