In 2019 80% of 5 candidates shortlisted as inaugural prof of climate change & health at PIK and Charite Berlin were female; to correct a perceived bias. This was undoubtedly illegal under EU law. Until so-called planetary & climate health leaders can behave ethically there will be little progress.

A new low in Australian excuses for fossil fuel expansion…apparently our coal and gas exports can be ‘netted out’ if we export enough green energy…can someone please call the atmosphere and tell it that burning fossil fuels wont harm it as long as we generate some renewables…FFS
I'm genuinely surprised @aunz.theconversation.com would publish such a misleading article. This is not 'journalism you can trust' it's propaganda.

In 2016 Monash University said it would divest from fossil fuels. The same year it inked a deal with Woodside, Australia's biggest domestic oil and gas supplier, starting a decade-long partnership.

I looked at how the institution was living up to its promises. The short answer: it's not.

Code Yikes!

On March 20th, 2025, the global mean surface temperature once again set a new daily record at 14.29°C, beating the previous daily record of 14.24°C set just last year.

The record global temperature should be short-lived as a global cool down is expected any day now.

Farrar did not just sign Daszak's statement of support. He also organized its publication in Lancet.

This happened after he shared a taxi with Daszak back from a WHO conference in Switzerland on 12 Feb 2020.
