Honestly I'm surprised to see this take from Paris Marx. Why would we give into the "solution" being pushed by tech companies themselves, which will inevitably put people's privacy at risk (from IDs and biometric data) and help companies tie our online actions to our real identities? Awful take
Age restrictions aren’t my preferred policy. But now is not the time to sit on our hands as companies get away with harming people’s mental health, amplifying right-wing politics, and even worse. It’s time to experiment with ways to rein in their power.
