Trump on India-Pakistan: "Everyone was stronger, stronger-- to a point where the next one was gonna be you know what. The n word. You know what the n word is, right? It's the n word. That's very nasty word, right? In a lot of ways. The n word used in a nuclear sense."

Q: There are many people who fit the criteria of fleeing persecution. Afghans for example. But they're being denied refugee status. So why such an exception for the Afrikaners?

TRUMP ADMIN OFFICIAL: One of the criteria is making sure they can be assimilated easily into our country

No. The lab wasn’t doing gain of function work on anything remotely similar to COVID. If one of its ‘chimeric viruses’ leaked we would have a SARS1 outbreak.

There is no such thing as an ‘accidental’ version of the lab leak that aligns with anything we know about SARS-COV2.
It is more plausible that there was an accidental lableak due to Wuhan lab using BSL3 rather than BSL4 standards required in the US for the Coronavirus studies and gain-of-function research. Trump fired the Obama era CDC oversight scientists or brought them back, so we don’t have samples that can /1

No. Scientists have found viruses in the wild with 99% similarity with COVID, much closer than anything held at the lab.

Anyone with a genuine familiarity with the evidence knows that at this point a lab leak is wildly implausible.
be independently tested. Scientists who were following the genetic changes during the Covid pandemic have a detailed record of all the natural mutations and the original strain, but no one has found anything genetically similar in the wild. /2

Something I used for decades in classes: the constitution and laws are the exoskeleton of a democracy. The norms are the ligaments and tendons. Lose them and it all collapses. And that is what we are losing. Shrugs over the biggest grift in history.

I’m still baffled at how America took one of the basic principles of the presidency — the occupant shouldn’t be able to benefit financially from the office — and just said, nah, that just doesn’t count for this one guy.

The more Trump convinces himself that all imports are bad imports, and every consumer dollar spent on foreign-made products is, by definition, a "lost" dollar, the less likely he is to abandon his failing trade policy: www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddo...
Trump: "We already made a great deal. We're not doing business with China right now. We lost $1 trillion with China last year, so if you're not gonna do business with them, you're not gonna lose $1 trillion."

he really, truly thinks that stopping trade with China entirely is good

he doesn’t care how much damage it does to the economy or how many businesses go under - he thinks that if Americans buy anything from China we are losing money so it should stop

No, President Trump: Less traffic at our ports means less work for the men and women who run them, like the thousands of Marylanders who power the Port of Baltimore.

That's not a good thing. These tariffs will tear apart our economy and hurt our communities — and it's entirely Trump-inflicted.
REPORTER: But we're seeing as a result that ports here in the US, the traffic has really slowed and now thousands of dockworkers are truck drivers are worried about their jobs

TRUMP: That means we lose less money ... when you say it slowed down, that's a good thing, not a bad thing
