Today we honor the flippered citizens of our icy nation.

Whether you celebrate whilst eating a democracy sausage in Oz, doomscrolling in America, pulling maple taps in Canada, or elsewhere, we appreciate the support! #worldpenguinday

Here’s the thing about the tariffs: there will be no “short term pain”. Only long term. Every time a company realizes they can get away with charging you extra they don’t ever lower the price again. They just gouge. Whatever price hikes there are will be here for good.

if you buy used books and want to avoid amazon where possible, check out bookfinder.com

you can search essentially every marketplace in one go

so you can, e.g., find the same used copy for sale, from the same seller, on biblio.com or ebay instead of amazon or abe (owned by amazon)

Today, we're digging into the US #debt. 💰 As of January 2025, the US has $35.8 trillion in debt — which breaks down to $106K per person.

That’s 3% higher than January 2024 and a 31% increase since 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic. #dataviz
