Some people get really bent out of shape when folks buy cheap, shitty turntables like Crosleys or whatever other suitcase brands are out there now. I say, "Go for it." Whatever gets you a foot into the hobby is fine with me.

This Alice Clark record has such a familiar sound, but I can't place what it reminds me of. Maybe the Brothers and Sisters of Los Angeles's "Dylan's Gospel."

Reissue, of course.

First time in Seattle for work, and it's a pretty cool city. But damn, y'all. How did anyone let this happen to the middle of downtown?

There are three things about March that I absolutely love.

1. evening sunlight comes back
2. baseball ramping up
3. this comic by Richard Thompson

White Sox have a rout going. I don't care if it's spring training; I'm going to enjoy it.

Lord knows there's not going to be much of this.

There was a moment in the mid-70s when the balance shifted from R&B cribbing from gospel to gospel cribbing from R&B. Willie Neal Johnson and the Gospel Keynotes were on the vanguard.

This record was the first I got from the group and is still my favorite. It has two of their best originals /1

I'm sure there are some really valid criticisms of Snap packages, but moving to the Snap version of Nextcloud was a lifesaver for me. I used to have to repair my NC install after almost every update. In 2+ years running the Snap, my admin time has been reduced to zero. Kudos to the NC Snap team.

Recorded this off a library copy almost 15 years ago, figuring I would buy it whenever I saw it. Lesson learned; this kind of 12th century weirdness does not turn up often. Finally bought it off Discogs.

Also, anything in the EMI Reflexe series is worth picking up. Just a tip.

Did DDG just spill the beans on an upcoming Mary Worth plotline? Now I'm on the edge of my seat to see how the "Dawn Weston's abusive boyfriend" story turns out.

First time listening to the brand new Eddie Chacon record. Still quiet and laid back like his last two records, but feels more substantial. Not necessarily better...the other records just seemed like wisps of smoke disappearing into the sky. This one has body.

I'm reading "Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage" by Alfred Lansing. And, holy hell, what a story!

Someone tell me there's an acclaimed epic movie out there that I somehow missed.

I've got a pair of Odyssey flight cases for my 1200s that are 20+ years old and the foams are totally rotting out. I have no idea what the model number is or how to find it, and don't know how to source replacement foams. Any ideas?
