Adjusting for inflation, that's pretty much spot on for how much you would have paid for Dr. Mario when it came out. Doesn't seem unreasonable.

Ummm...if you get rid of 'God Bless America,' then there will only be four or five patriotic elements left at baseball games.

Oh no! Only on pace for 100 wins.

Human sacrifice! Dogs and cats, living together! Mass hysteria!

Very reminiscent of Everything Is Terrible's long-standing quest to own every VHS copy of Jerry Maguire.

I think we must be thinking of different Ozunas. I thought you were asking about PED suspensions, so my mind went to Pablo Ozuna. In retrospect, that would be a pretty deep pull

Fifty games, but that was the policy at the time. Wasn't increased to 80 for a first time positive test until 2014.

No. They have a bullpen, and it sucks.

Oh cool. Another person pokes their head out of the mud to tell people in DC what to do.

We'll stop agitating for statehood when we get it and not before.

If all you've got is $50 for a piece of garbage, buy the thing and start buying records. If you're into it, you can always get something better later on.

I picked up an Alternative Tentacles comp, Cheech and Chong's 'Los Cuchinos,' the best of Sam and Dave, and Albany Berg's 'Wozzeck.' After that, I was hooked on the hunt. Got a series of better setups over the next decade or so, but it all started with a total piece of shit.

My first turntable was a colossal piece of shit with an integrated AM/FM radio and a half-dead 8-track player that I got from the thrift shop. If I didn't have it, I never would have even looked in the bins of cheap records.

Could be bad pressings or static. Unlikely that a new record has embedded garbage in the grooves.

Yes. Thank you, assholes, for keeping record stores open. I'm happy to pay a few extra bucks so I can still spend my Sundays digging through the nasty crates on the floor and you can get your Taylor Swift whatever from a real person in the neighborhood.

Look great. How are they attached?
March 9, 2025 at 11:52 PM
I dunno. A simple SpinClean is very, very good and costs a fraction of the price. I'm sure an ultrasonic cleaner is better, but what kind of marginal improvement are you getting for the extra hundreds?

"Two mediocre teams" is awfully generous of you.

My mom saved my evaluations from day care. They say stuff like, "He really enjoys playing with the records and books."

Guilty.
