Just accidentally watched the first two episodes of #pluribus the wrong way around. But honestly? Not mad about it.

Dear @chuckwendig.bsky.social - I know you're busy, but I'm going to buy an apple tree this weekend, but want something weird/awesome. As my go-to apple guy, do you have any recs from this list?

My tween home sick & is currently 2/3rds of the way through the MST3K gauntlet. I introduced him to the show last night, so it is my own fault. Not sure if I should be proud or horrified. Even worse, I'm working, so I don't even know what movies he's watching back-to-back-to-back-to-back...

"Umami" is a fifth taste experienced by humans alongside bitter, sweet, sour, & salty. Looking it up, I'm informed that it means 'delicious'. They went on to list foods that exemplify this flavour, but the list has random things that taste nothing alike. Tomatoes and meat? What?

That was wild. My kid was told by his teacher that the origin of the name "pickleball" was that one of the people who invented it had a friend named Pickle whom they would send to get the ball. I needed to know. 1/

It might be just me, but I can only handle news these days in the form of comedy shows.

I've lived in my house for more than two years. Just found out there's an electric burner under the warming drawer (pan storage) of my gas stove.

I flew Westjet recently... JSYK, their in-flight entertainment app doesn't work on all devices. It definitely doesn't work on a bunch of different Samsung devices. And they don't seem to want to fix it. Have you ever been in a plane for 8hrs with a kid and no entertainment? Not great.

The difference between my usage on Bluesky and Twitter could be the fact that I've become antisocial over the past four or five years.

Going to Disney World in a few days. Huge extended family trip that's been planned for more than a year. ALL the kids are so excited. I'm...less so. But we fake it till we make it for the benefit of the littles.

Last night, apropos of nothing, my cat snuck downstairs past the sleeping great dane for the first time in 14 months. It only lasted a couple of minutes, but I'm still proud of her. Trying not to be concerned...

Tried to watch the new season of Severance, but I was completely lost. Now I'm rewatching Season 1, but I'm really not mad about it. I'm going to blame my stress levels at the time and the 3 year gap for my awful memory, but it's worth a rewatch anyway.

Congratulate me. I'm officially old enough to put my back out coughing while asleep. A banner day.

My cat had tummy issues. I took her to the vet who prescribed probiotics, antibiotics, & an antiparasitic. She's SO MAD at me right now. The antiparasitic made her tummy way worse. Do I have to give her the full course?

As we see more and more once-in-a-lifetime weather events and the decline in government services, I'd urge folks to expand their home shelter-in-place kits beyond the typical 3 or so days.

Have food and backup power/comms. I shoot for 2 weeks, plus being a phone recharge hub for neighbors in need.

I love the accent and voice of the person reading the audiobook "The Book of Koli". I made the mistake while sick of listening while trying to fall asleep. Worked like a charm, but now I have to reread basically the whole thing 😂

I do not know why my novel WANDERERS is a mere buck-ninety-nine at your favorite electric bookmonger site of choice, but it is, so if you want, y'know, creepy sleepwalking disease peri-apocalyptic sci-fi horror with a hefty dash of EAT SHIT A.I., then hey, it's 800 pages for 199 pennies.

Day five of the flu. The cough? Way worse. Everything else? 100x better. That's not to say good. I still feel like sentient dog vomit, but I worked for 3 hours, cleaned a thing, showered, and was hungry for the first time since getting sick. I call it a win.
