KOSA and the Stop CSAM act are both extremely high priority

Lawmakers are looking to repeal section 230 and they are getting phone calls ENCOURAGING reps to do so!

We need to call and drown out the opposition so we can save a free and open internet!

Wikipedia is worth $10/month because if it dies so does reliable knowledge. Cough up if you can -- it's cheaper, more interesting and morally superior to Netflix.
wikipedia's data shows that AI is siphoning traffic away from the site, which is a danger to its sustainability. ironically Wikipedia is more important than ever to users who want reliable information instead of slop, and to AI companies that need it for training data www.404media.co/wikipedia-sa...

Protest movements that stop as soon as they start seeing results fail.

Protest movements that keep going until your whole squad is across the finish line win.
Visa employees clearly told to deescalate ASAP
MasterCard employees more than familiar with the issue
Stripe feeling the pressure
ACLU put out a statement
CBC covered all this

What you are doing is WORKING
You are getting RESULTS
KEEP CALLING
KEEP WRITING
WE ARE GOING TO WIN!!

Folks in the states, alongside pressuring all the big money companies, we need to pressure our representatives in order to make sure KOSA, and bills like it, stay down

Advocating for legal media wont work if they simply make it illegal after all
The script to oppose KOSA (the Kids Online Safety Act) AKA The Big Bullshit Censorship Bill is now up on @5calls.org

We’ve already seen the results of this over the last few days in the U.K. with their Online Safety Act (OSA). Let’s make sure it dies off again. Call your reps ☎️

In my opinion, keep calling and ask for details. Really get at PayPal and Stripe especially. Play the dumb consumer, business peeps can bring up your perspective, and ask them why Australian extremists can influence American free speech. Be clear, be polite, and keep. fucking. calling.

I feel we need to remind everyone that this all started just a few days ago, we haven't even been calling for a week and they're already at the "Hanging up because they can't take it anymore" stage.
Keep calling
“Visa is just yelling at people and disconnecting calls” is crazy. Holy shit

If you've ever felt like the walls are closing in on LGBTQ and adult creators: call your payment processors.

Finally, there's a coordinated action, a chance to actually push back, but it *has* to be in this present window of time, while the attention is on the issue and the iron is hot.

Visa's call centers are crumpling under the weight and MasterCard has an earnings call in two days!

make sure to hit stripe, their policies are a key problem here

I think Visa and Mastercard may be getting a lot of calls about their adult content policies, but I just called in to PayPal and not only was there no wait, the customer service rep I got had never had one of these calls before (they were very nice about it.)

Literally none of the time you spent calling Visa/MasterCard this week will matter if this shit passes

Yes it's exhausting to have more calls to make

But this *is* life or death

Censorship is the first stage of removing marginalized people from public life, and then from life itself

This shit is just fucking KOSA under a new name, and they will keep trying every time they get a fucking chance. Please call your representatives and demand they vote against this blatant attempt to make it illegal to know about being born certain ways.

Hey, instead of berating companies for using AI in their advertising on moral grounds, make fun of them for being too poor to afford an artist. Suggest that the use of AI art means they're a failing brand and a bad investment. They'll actually care about that.
