Wait until you hear that LLMs can only train on digitized/datafied info.

Most of the FACTS scholars use are in archives/libraries.

Less than 1% of archival colletions worldwide have been digitized.

Also: lots of facts are not even in archives, but in the attics.
suspect a big reason why many academics and others who work in areas where getting facts RIGHT is key are disinterested in using LLMs for research:

they’ve tried it, they keep noticing major errors in output, and they conclude that having to verify all that doesn’t actually save them time.

Today I witnessed something truly astounding…proof that orange cats multiply in pairs.

Anyone available to threaten daily smacks if I don’t write or edit daily? Because I’m too good a procrastinator… 🤦🏼🤦🏼🤦🏼

Saw an ad for the movie on a bus just now. First of many I’ll see, I’m sure. My first thought was, “why do we need this?”
🔮 James Cameron who is racist against Natives endlessly plunders our aesthetic and culture to make his giant movies where a white man steals the skin of a Native to walk amongst them and become their saviour

buppy doesn’t have the words

but sure, it’s “performative” to hate them
i don’t think everyone needs to like every film but the way people refuse to even take the avatar series seriously in any capacity feels so performative in a way no other series has ever been treated, very odd to me

Why does Google Maps not have a “safest route” feature?

Well said. Books are beautiful treasures.
Books are merely a technology to make human speech, communication, and storytelling permanent, to be enjoyed at a later time without the human that spoke it being present. Calling books obsolete is calling human communication obsolete. GenAI is profoundly antihuman. I hate the new machine worshipers

Well, I gotta say LUAS support staff are getting better and better at herding people into the tram after a show (my personal experience). There used to be a time when the tram either left half empty or people were falling over each other to get on without any barriers in place.

In-between cat-sitting and therapy, the question for today is… Do I edit another chapter once I get home or just nap on my friends’ couch hoping the cats will come snuggle.

Why are there so many people out and about? I’ve only really interacted with cats today but being surrounded by masses of people…well, I’m peopled out.

I did write yesterday. I rewrote and edited an entire chapter. Very pleased with my efforts.
Today I WILL write. Enough procrastination already. I will create something. I must.

Reached for “laser” pointer for Coffee and pointed it at a corner of my wardrobe.
Instead of chasing the thing like she’d usually do, she dramatically flops onto the floor and decides to watch the show. 🤦🏼🤣

Question. Why does Apple’s weather app sent a severe wind 🌬️ warning then follow it up with a moderate wind 💨 warning for the same area / period. I thought “severe” is stronger than “moderate”. Or is my brain 🧠 failing me?

Kitchen and bathroom scrubbed. Murder mittens trimmed.
Apologetic gesture in form of tube treat made.
Dishes down.
New renter-friendly hooks for cooking utensils sorted.
Coffee cat assisted by loudly proclaiming she wanted to help then lamenting the lack of thumbs.
Energy level: FECKING EXHAUSTED

Took my cat to the vet yesterday (vaccine booster) and when we left home she yelled so loudly, I thought the people on the street were about to accuse me of kidnapping.

Why is it so difficult to understand whether people are genuinely interested in being friends or just like you know being polite? I just can’t read people. Exhausting to even try.

#QueerPrompts OK, I’ll play. Give me a book cover and I’ll make up an outrageous plot. Be warned, it will be very queer and quite possibly also very trans.
#QueerPrompts November 28: Free Friday or make up what a book is about based only on its cover

🤦🏼 Asked my void if she wanted to watch some BirdTV; she answered in the affirmative. As you can see, she walked off to loaf in the kitchen and I’m watching robins and other cute birds in winter.

Great Writing Quotes by Author Charles W. Eliot
Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers. The finest language is mostly made up of simple unimposing words. No story is the same to us after a lapse of time; or rather we who read it are no longer the same interpreters. I don’t want the world to give me anything for my books except money enough to save me from the temptation to write only for money. The words of genius have a wider meaning than the thought that prompted them.
