One of the reasons I posted this question for #writerslifemonthly is because I know someone who read The Hobbit to her daughter and recast Bilbo as female, guess what? The story didn’t change.

So, the other week, we took Chip, our #shihtzu, to the beach for the first time. I thought he'd hate it. I thought he'd drag at the lead, find some stranger's towel or blanket to sit on, and sulk until we left. Wrong. He loved it!

I've been busy writing a book, actually I'm rewriting it...
which really means mostly I'm procrastinating for many reasons
because it's January and I just want to rest after the hols,
I've got the day job
and partly because quite frankly I'm pretty scared of what might happen this coming year.

I just had to finish a book today because I kept hoping it would get better - as in the writing would get better.
It made me wonder if after 10-20 years of writing whether authors would want to go back and revise earlier work.
I think it could be adapted to film and be really good.
