Hard Choices is somehow even worse than Strong and Stable because it's completely obvious to everybody but apparently Reeves, Starmer and McSweeney that the hard choice is raising taxes and literally everyone in the UK has known this since May 2024 because public services are in the fucking toilet

My theory is a variant: Most people want decent public services. Paid for by other people's taxes.
This sounds as if it shd be universal delusion but it's not: 🇬🇧 media has destroyed any chance of honesty about tax/spend for so long, we've forgotten the social contract. Unserious media AND pols.

There are no binary choices to political solutions. It’s not throw open the borders or be Farage. There are workable answers - it just takes hard work, intelligence, compassion, nuance, communication, diligence, effort and political will.

Would be nice to see some.
