More clean headroom, tighter overall.  I also reinstalled my matser volume mod with a proper audio pot, so still need to experiment with higher volumes to see about the harmonics, but first impressions were very favorable.
Got it all mounted up and looking forward to playing it for a bit...

Update on the 5E3.  I thought all was well, but was wrong. Should have documented everything, but during the time thought it might never be right.

In the end, I prevailed...long story in thread.

Cleaner sounds...

It's alive!

I'm not sure what do expect, so I don't know whether to be excited or disappointed, but it makes sound after a few snafus.

Wasn't going to cover cause I never can get material to act right, but it's meh enough I might get some "tweed" vinyl and give it a shot. Need it functional before I worry about that.
Oh yeah, speaker is a Mojotone Anthem, budget option that sounded quite Jensen-like in the examples I found. 🤞

Also mounted the speaker to the baffle and through on a quick grill mesh to see how it looks. Yikes...it's quite light, shows my very janky circle cutting (plywood baffle was cracking, not likely final). I will double up the material for a better effect I think.

Have a bit more work on my 5e3 Tweed Deluxe build as of now. Bit more soldering including the valve sockets.

I then build a 2x10 cabinet. I was just going to put in 1 budget 10, a Celestion Ten30 but was less than impressed by the sound. So I started researching possible pairing a different speaker to compliment it with more pronounced highs and got a Eminence 1058. Loved the way it ended up sounding.

Guitar cont. - Amplification

So after getting my Les Paul, I originally planned to just run amp modeling via Cakewalk. It's free now, so I bought a good budget set of studio monitors and a Behringer audio interface. It worked pretty nicely, but I had the bug for something real, if inexpensive...

Brother Mike as I refer to him(to make him uncomfortable), was my pastor as a kid; baptized me. He changed when he left for DC. My favorite thing now is to post this pic of him with some rabbi, Lev and Igor holding what really looks like a money bag. @levparnas.bsky.social any memories of this?

I then decided I needed a woods guitar. So I got a 3/4 size body Orangewood acoustic. It sounds pretty decent, good enough for around the fire...but the trusrod wasn't seated and I don't know if it every did...doesn't seem to do much but attenuation is fine currently. Might not age well...

Few years ago decided I need to work on my guitar skills and got a Ephiphone Les Paul Standard. A bit disappointed as I thought I was moving up from the cheapest, but this guitar had bad fret finishing(rough edges) and some high frets. I'm no luthier, but managed to get most of it smoothed out.

So, I guess I will do more details per day also...for the algorithm.

Guitars:
Alvarez Acoustic since the 90s. Decent sounding/playing guitar for 200$ back then. Learned the basics and never really progressed. Imagine 90s church praise band, that was the vibe...things have changed since then.

So migrating over here with the wife and attempting to be social.

First post...guitar and amp build. putting together a tele clone and tweed deluxe kit. Finest(cheapest) parts from eBay to be upgraded later if things work out well.
