I’m seeing a lot of people who said that they want the filibuster gone now saying that they’re thankful that the OBBB Act will require 60 votes to pass. Is the filibuster often a pain when it comes to pass good legislation? Yes, yes it is. But it’s an important part of the legislative process.

Some say that we need to shift to the right, others say we need to shift to the left. But not enough people are looking at the actual issue: we are ignoring the working class of this nation. Right-wing extremism has always fed off working class people who feel ignored, so let’s stop ignoring them.
"How we see ourselves as the Democratic Party—the party of the people, the party of the working class and the middle class—no longer matches up with what most voters think."
Democrats Must Become the Workers’ Party Again
Reconnecting the Democratic Party to the working class is an electoral and a moral imperative, and it will be my mission for the rest of my life.

If we’re going to take on Trump, Republican extremists, and move our country forward, the Democratic Party needs to be stronger. I'm running for Chair of the Democratic National Committee to unite the party, fight everywhere, and win. Join me. 🧵
Unite. Fight. Win.

Democrats will win when we start recognizing that progressives can win over liberals, moderates, and even some conservatives.

Republicans don’t have to hid behind a centrist facade to win, and we shouldn’t either. If Trump can own his extremism, Dems can stand behind their platform.
A lot of people responsible for poor decisions are on a press tour right now because if they didn’t, people would rightfully be questioning THEIR leadership and they know it.

It’s weak even by normal left-punching standards. Zero evidence more Liz Cheney would have won this. The opposite, actually.
First quote in this new @politico.com story is from RI's Dem committeeman Joe Paolino: "The progressive wing of the party has to recognize — we all have to recognize — the country’s not progressive, and not to the far left or the far right. They’re in the middle” www.politico.com/news/2024/11...
