In the Finale of #SupermanAndLois Lois says: “One thing that I’ve learned as I’ve gotten older is that true friendship is hard to come by, and it’s even rarer to find it later in life.” In my fifth decade I’ve found some true friends in the SPN fandom (you know who you are) and I’m very grateful.

Food banks are not normal.
They should never be normalised.
Hunger in our communities is the direct result of punitive policies.
It horrifies me to think there now is a generation which doesn't remember life when we had a functioning social security system, and better workers' rights.

Need for a food bank is 69%(!!!) higher than five years ago.
Sobering new @trusselluk.bsky.social stats out today. In just 1st 6 months of this year, food banks in the Trussell community provided 1.42 million emergency food parcels. 508,000 were for children. the Ovechkin injury puts a real wrench in one of the most interesting storylines of the season. Now it all depends on how long he is out / if he can pick up where he left off. Also going to be super interesting to see how WSH looks without him because he's been such a pivotal part of their start.
