SecState Rubio claims that no on has died because of USAID cuts and suggested that I had lied in my reporting. So here I show him photos of specific children who have died because of the Trump administration's reckless cancelation of aid: www.nytimes.com/2025/05/31/o...

Thanks @lawandsociety.bsky.social !It's an incredible honor and especially meaningful for me as a jury researcher since Kalven was the coauthor of THE most influential research monograph, The American Jury (1966)!
Congrats to Valerie P. Hans (@jurygirl.bsky.social) of @cornelllaw.bsky.social for co-winning LSA’s 2025 Harry J. Kalven, Jr. Prize!

President Trump is using the Abrego Garcia case to establish a truly chilling proposition: that no one can stop him from imprisoning anyone he wants anywhere else in the world never to be seen or heard from again. His dream is to preside over a police state. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/09/o...

Thank you WilmerHale.
This is the right response from WilmerHale. Let them hear it. Doing the right thing when it's hard deserves our praise. Every institution feeling pressure to cave needs to see good incentives to do the right thing.

Wasn't sure we'd see a ruling in this case since the outgoing governor commuted Bacote's sentence, but I am pleasantly surprised. I testified at this hearing last spring about a study @cmgrosso.bsky.social and I did on discrimination in capital jury selection.
