The president is a lunatic

I've heard the president is going to pardon one of two turkeys. I wonder which one he'll choose: Donald Jr. or Eric.

Adam Scott and the Pope discussing what movies they'd be watching.

🧵 Privatization, in any sector, is objectively bad. The entire philosophy behind for-profit entities contracting with the government is to provide the bare minimum amount of services in order to maximize profits. Prisons, in particular, are horrible places for privatization

Dems need to run with this! The messaging should be that Trump's actions (tariffs) directly made things more expensive for AMERICANS.

Look, say what you will about President Trump, but did Joe Biden ever rake in $1 trillion in tariff revenue over the course of 9.5 hours? No, only "President Deals" can wear that crown. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!

This is literally what "Obamacare" is. Based on income, you're given a subsidy to choose which healthcare plan you want. The plans are terrible, to be sure, but he's describing what currently exists.
Ron Johnson: "We're gonna repair the damage done with Obamacare, but we're gonna do it using free market principles, using freedom of choice on the part of Americans, and we'll give them the money to use as they see fit."

Trump has said since July 15th, 2015, that he'd be releasing his beautiful healthcare plan in two weeks. Apparently this is it--lose your coverage and buy a plan from some guy on the street-corner named "Healthcare Steve."
Trump: "I am recommending to Senate Republicans that the Hundreds of Billions of Dollars currently being sent to money sucking Insurance Companies in order to save the bad Healthcare provided by ObamaCare, BE SENT DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE SO THAT THEY CAN PURCHASE THEIR OWN, MUCH BETTER, HEALTHCARE."

One of the only times I respect the framing of a NYT article headline.

Joe blocked me less than two minutes after posting this, but the original post was him "proving" that Democrats have moved too far to the left because the second page of the 2024 Democratic Party National Platform was a land acknowledgement, which he called "performative wokery."
This is nonsense. Joe is taking one page out of 92 pages of milquetoast liberal ideology and pretending that it's emblematic of the document as a whole. Half of the platform is about preserving the healthcare status quo, investing in border security, beefing up the military, and supporting Israel.

I got 91/100. Who can beat me?
October 31, 2025 at 7:57 PM
Well I pretty easily beat 75. Anyone want to take a guess how many I got? Who else is going to try this with me?
Game alert: I believe, on a blank map of the United States, I could correctly guess at least 75 of the 100 US Senators by their state without any external help--aside from the state name on the map. Anyone want to take a shot in the dark how many I'll get? Why not try this yourself and share!

Ending the filibuster and packing the courts both ran into the same demise with Democrats under Biden: "if we do it, Republicans will then do it when they're in power." Well, as everyone on earth could have predicted, they're doing it anyway. The old guard--those that follow "decorum"--needs to go.

Mark my words. On November 1st, SNAP payments are set to not go out. On November 3rd, Trump will order Rollins to release the SNAP contingency funds, and this webpage will read something like "despite the nasty Democrats who want Americans to go hungry, Donald J. Trump has saved SNAP!"

Wow. Also, the story fails to note that Michigan legislators receive mileage and a $10,800 annual session expense allowance.

Wow. The federal government has been shut down for five hours. They move fast.

There is a lot of confusion and misinformation around what's happening regarding the potential federal government shutdown, so I wanted to note a few quick things. 🧵

I'm so sick of "both-sides" coverage. According to the Yale School of Medicine, there is not a single scientific study to establish a causal relationship between Tylenol and autism. Also, people who have autism ARE PEOPLE. Having autism doesn't define you, and we should stop speaking like it does.
npr.org NPR @npr.org · Sep 24
The science on Tylenol and autism isn't clear, despite President Trump's claims. Here's what parents need to know to make their own decisions about acetaminophen.
When it comes to Tylenol, what are parents to do?

This seems to put to bed the constant "I support immigration, but they need to do it legally" rhetoric frequently espoused by the same people.
WSJ: “.. Lutnick also told meeting attendees that the administration would discuss ‘suspending’ all other green card categories so the gold card path would represent the only way to immigrate permanently.” 🤡
