Rainy November days can dampen the spirit, can’t they?
I’m missing Jack Frost and his spiky, sparkling ways, but until he returns, here are a few wild fairytale words to help lift the clouds.
Reading from Nature’s Advent Calendar on the fairy house doorstep, casting a little winter magic in the air.

The fairies were fluttering in my studio today, as I wrapped more books to post away…
I’ve always wished this wild fairytale might find its way into Christmas stockings — hoping believing in fairies makes wishes come true!

Sharing a little excitement, on a dark November evening…
They’ve arrived! My first copies of Nature’s Advent Calendar – A Wild Fairytale, published under Cloth of Nature Press. Signed, limited edition copies are now available — wrapped with care and a whisper of magic.

A hush in the studio…
But the door’s ajar to the wild.
Birdsong drifts in, chiming through the stillness.
Wildflowers rest in a tiny perfume vial.
A butterfly ship sets sail across the pages of a wild fairytale.
Even in quiet moments, something stirs.
A wild fairytale is on its way! #ColthOfNature

Before dawn, a tawny owl called through the darkness.
Later, walking to my studio, birdsong rose around me — sweet cadences of thrush, bright notes of blackcap, and perhaps a redwing’s wistful echo.
Even on the greyest days, there’s music.
And the owl calls at the edge of night.

Every bit the weary traveller still — though I can’t entirely blame the journey home from Yorkshire.
Fatigue and I aren’t friends, just long-time companions.
But I’ve finished the squirrel movie!
A moment of stillness, rustle and joy.
Long-term illness shapes the rhythm of life… so does love.

So tired this evening, having been scampering about all day. But before I doze off on the sofa — a squirrely snack to share, for those with an appetite for something sweet.
An after-dinner treat!
Squirrel ~ the movie to follow tomorrow.

Strid Woods this afternoon — a gold rush of tumbling leaves, and the Strid itself rushing wild beside us.
I arrived tired but the river’s fierce energy gifted me a rush of my own.
There’s something ancient in its roar — something that clears the mind and stirs the soul. #AutumnEnergy #WildYorkshire
