i find this notion that public spending is illegitimate bizarre as a matter of economics but totally legible as a statement of moral economy. and as per any strict system of morality, the punishment is part of the appeal. they are punishing the american people for believing in the public good.

My husband has a darker complexion and dark hair and eyes. When he was younger he was often mistaken as being Latino. I'm genuinely worried about him being racially profiled. This is such a fun timeline.

Okay maybe I'm missing it but I don't see much independent confirmation of this, but if it IS happening it is *wild*. It would mean they are literally trying to stop biomedical research from happening.
All NIH study sections canceled indefinitely. This will halt science and devastate research budgets in universities.
