Negotiating assurances with the ruling party for a vote to show Americans what that party is all about suggests to me the people who came up with the idea haven’t been paying attention as the current ruling party repeatedly, through word & deed, made it entirely clear what it is all about.

@jbminatra.bsky.social I see you listed consultant, coach, and veteran in your profile. I’d be interested in a professional discussion along those lines if you’re willing to connect.

Because We the People have short attention spans, a reminder that Patton’s alleged “Use their guts to grease the treads of our tanks” speech was about white supremacist nazis.
So, not a speech hegseth (diminutive intentional) should pirate, but a speech about hegseth & his like-minded colleagues.

The most recent elections were not victory. They were battles won in a long war nowhere near over.
It is not time to meet at Appomattox — and won’t ever be time to just forgive & forget.
Last times we declared victory — Civil War, WWII, Cold War — the other side kept right on waging their war.

Thinkers gonna think.
Planners gonna plan.
The ruling party is neither, does neither.
None of this well end soon or easy, but ignorance & incompetence eventually flounder.
Toxic leaders succeed either serially or for short periods. Unfortunately, short in this context can mean years or decades.

This is good, and should actually make us feel better.
Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson temporarily blocked a ruling that required Trump to fully fund SNAP because she’s playing chess, not checkers. She sent it back to the lower courts for a reason. 👀

At some point I anticipate these poorly trained agents are going to learn a hard lesson about the risks of concentrating en masse & the importance of dispersion.
My guess is they think the “300 Spartans” won at Thermopylae.

Until the end of the government shutdown, our campaign will be donating $2,500 a month to a food pantry in the Ninth District.

Leadership is a lifestyle and a practice.
Leadership is service.
Leadership is “Come with me!” and “I got you!” far more often than it is “Follow me!” or, especially, “Look at me!”
We the People know this, but some chose to f*** around.
Now we’re finding out.

Remember the time Obama personally caught a fainting woman during his speech — rather than just blankly staring like a sociopath?

Washington Confirms Boycott Of UN Human Rights Review
The US confirmed on 7 November that it will not participate in the upcoming review of its human rights performance before the UN Human Rights Council. The US mission in Geneva confirmed this week that the US's seat will remain empty during the Universal Periodic Review of its rights record, which is scheduled to take place on Friday afternoon. All 193 UN member states are required to undergo the standard review of their rights record every four to five years. Each country then receives recommendations from other member states on compliance. The US will become only the second country to boycott the UN review.

Any given society (& associated governance system) prioritizing a livable standard of food, clothing, shelter, health, safety, & education for its people seems fundamental to me, not radical.
Pretty sure no one of us is capable of providing that for ourselves at this stage of civilization.

May as well be “that guy” and tell anyone listening here that my garage-parked 2022 Toyota Tacoma w/ approx 26k soft miles on it had a random circuit blow inside the entertainment system & it’s my $3,200 problem because of course I’m “out of warranty” since June.

As I keep saying here: the fascists are exposed, entrenched, have everything to lose, and do not intend to cede power.
Ideally the beginning of the end will start at the ballot box, but this will not end easily or quickly,
Hard days comin’.

No it’s important to listen to this. Because then you understand that many of them will do ANYTHING to keep power. Remember Musk got involved in the 2024 election after saying to Tucker “if she wins” I am definitely going to prison.
So we need to move knowing that nothing is off the table for them.

Received an email recently from someone saying they pray the silence between us will one day end. Aside from it striking me as odd for an adult to call on a deity to do something they could easily do themselves, I pray the silence doesn’t end & am curious to see whose god wins.

Some late night informal thoughts about one important lesson from today's electoral results.
It's not over.

Taking the country back starts with We the People participating in our democratic process. None of this will be easy or fast & the Union may yet collapse into chaos — but if we don’t participate, it WILL.

In general there are two paths forward. Preservation of the Union through democratic processes; or building something out of the ashes.
In either case, We the People bear the burden of action.
Exhausting path one before heading down path two is likely best, but those are the paths before us.

Not my place to second guess Divine Omnipotence, of course, but it strikes me a more effective rapture strategy would be to just call home all the people due for the hot place.
We’d all notice who was gone, but wouldn’t miss them much, & the Creator’s Creation could keep humming right along.

I think a key thing many good people are misunderstanding is that, no, that day won’t come. To hang one’s head in shame, one must be capable of feeling shame. Shameless people, though? Well… It’s in the word. Even if they go to prison, they’ll do so believing they are the victims.

Were the rapture to happen, I anticipate the overwhelming majority of people who self-identify as Christian would deny it had happened & use their continued presence here on Earth as their proof.
