I finally hung my lightsaber hilts in my home office that I had bought a couple of years ago at Disney. I designed and #3dprinted some low-profile brackets with PETG and I'm quite happy with how they came out.

Thought - is it reasonable to hold telecom providers or SMS providers financially responsible for scams that use their networks? These “outstanding tolls due” notices are getting REALLY tiring - but I am most frustrated knowing that nobody cares to stop it.

I really want to use the "new" Outlook for Windows client - but it doesn't support working across multiple email accounts (e.g., calendar, moving/filing emails, responding to a mail from a different email account.

It feels like Zune client -> Xbox Music all over again.

It's bad enough to have a massive conflict of interest, and likely coercion by Musk, to have the FAA shift #mission #critical communications from a ground carrier to StarLink. Far worse is moving mission critical comms to a brittle system that just one EMP will take it all out. This is madness.

My @infoworld.bsky.social explainer into the science of Microsoft's Majorana 1 quantum processor went live overnight. A lot of thoughts condensed into 1500 words on what it is, how it works, and why it's a really important step on the road to quantum computing.

Microsoft’s first step to scalable quantum computing
After many years of work, Microsoft has unveiled its first quantum hardware, the Majorana 1 processor. Let’s grok its topoconductor and tetron-based qubits.

An exciting announcement and achievement by the Microsoft Quantum team - a new type of matter and a path towards scalable quantum computing.
Microsoft's big quantum gamble pays off: they were harder to build (and about as hard to understand!) but Microsoft's topological qubits are more effective, easier to control - and will probably help design their own replacements.
Microsoft Makes Quantum Computing Breakthrough With New Chip
Microsoft’s breakthrough with the first topological qubits and its own quantum chip, Majorana 1, could outpace Google’s brute force approach.

We have a new addition to the house - I’m testing out a print I designed and the Bambu printer is a leap forward compared to my old Ender 3. It’s 5x faster, the prints are smoother, and I LOVE the auto-leveling.
