It's #PlasticFreeJuly and if you haven't already been working to curb your appetite for single use plastic, this is the month to do it. If you don't care about the environment* then do it for your health.

*you better care about the environment, tho.

Today is #PlasticBagFreeDay ! Did you know that more than 100 billion plastic bags are used each year? Only 1-3% of those end up recycled while the rest are incinerated or landfilled. Don't add to the pile. Go plastic bag free and #ReachForReusables like produce bags, tote bags, a basket, or a box!

The thing that was making America great was apparently lead.
Today EPA chief Lee Zeldin announced that the agency is rolling back 31 regulations.

He's taking aim at mercury, soot, and toxic pollution restrictions, and federal protection of wetlands.

The EPA will also rewrite rules limiting pollution from fossil-fuel plants and cars, and more.

Has Virginia passed a bipartisan can on foam cups and take out containers? Yes!

Has Gov Youngkin worked to significantly delay this bipartisan law every single year through the budget? Also yes.

Have you told your legislators to support a #FoamFreeVA? #valeg

Tell your legislators to support Virginia's ban on polystyrene foam
Tell your legislators to support budget amendments which would protect the phase out of single use foam and honor this bipartisan ban.

Jen will be at Pohick Library in Burke on Saturday at 2 to give an exciting presentation about keeping your holidays sustainable.

Pro tip: do not show up drinking from a single use plastic water bottle unless you want to be used as an example. 🌳💚
