ENR: Tell USDOT that safe bicycling infrastructure means safer roads for all users. Plus, BuzzBallz and their polluting packaging; the global plastic treaty falls through (thanks, ACC) Lagos targets single-use plastics; + the EPA is hiding risky chemical operations.

It’s a good news/bad news week for the Environmental News Roundup: Chesapeake Bay underwater grasses hold their ground; Connecticut sees higher beverage container return rates; another state bans EPS foam; but boy do those plastics continue to wreak havoc around the globe.

Today is #PlasticBagFreeDay ! Did you know that more than 100 billion plastic bags are used each year? Only 1-3% of those end up recycled while the rest are incinerated or landfilled. Don't add to the pile. Go plastic bag free and #ReachForReusables like produce bags, tote bags, a basket, or a box!

A mantle, with real fir greenery, and it is decorated with little white lights and trinkets found around the house instead of anything bought new. The trinkets include a Dala horse from Sweden, several paper origami granes, used tickets to a Red Sox game, a fishing trophy from the 70s, a small bunch of dried lavender , a candlestick with a candle in it, and other assorted toys and small collectables. There is a homemade cloth stocking hanging from the mantle but you can only see the hang tag.
