You've probably heard how a high percentage of #Nobel laureates are immigrants. The US in particular has benefited from the influx of bright minds.

@jennaahart.bsky.social ran the data for this century's Nobel prizewinners — and shows more than 30% immigrated. 🧪

Phase separation is a mechanism by which macromolecules are separated into concentrated liquid phase and a dilute liquid phase without any macromolecules. This happens in cells, which contains proteins and nucleic acids that have different physical/chemical properties to encourage phase separation.

Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑

Read an article about the “stride-to-foot size ratio” of a tiny dinosaur that was so high, which meant that it was flapping its feathered forelimbs as it sprinted.
I can confirm that the tiny dinosaur in my house has a very high stride-to-foot ratio! 🧪

The BART experience could be improved slightly by providing a directional map of stations at each platform. Refer to HK MTR signage at each platform!
No need for digital signage (more susceptible to damage). #BART

When reading protocols/workflows, the worst possible diagram is a combination of Microsoft suite flow chart and table. Each step does not need to be a 2-row table in varying shades of blue.

The reproductive system of birds is an evolutionary marvel. Their only functioning oviduct is a fantastic conveyor belt of weirdness, of which parts are still mysterious. An illustration made for a pet bird magazine.
