Back from Away, my 2nd poetry collection turned 1 year old last week.
Thanks to all who turned its pages, gave it a home & to Liz at Turas Press for bringing it to life.
Here’s me reading the opening poem, Between the Floorboards, sitting on the actual floorboards, of which there are 17 💙

Hardly new info, but BSky should know:

Warsaw's water quality is monitored by eight clams with magnets attached to their shells. If contamination in the water causes the clams to close, the magnets trigger an alarm and shut off the city's water supply.

somehow stuck together in a lattice.

I don’t know why, but it never opened

and many years later I went away

leaving the cocoon behind on a shelf,

while whatever creature lay inside

never learnt what it truly was.

One of our Heroneers wrote a song about the Yellow-Crowned Night Heron we included in our first Heroneer's Calendar in 23.

Sung to the tune of YCMA. It's fun to be a Yyyyy C N H h 🎶 🕺
