I think the Tories really need to consider replacing Badenoch with Cleverly.

I don’t like the Conservatives, but the absence of a sensible right-wing alternative is just fuelling the rise of Reform.

I miss the days of having a strong and robust Tory party…and I never thought I’d say that.

Keir Starmer has pulled it out the bag with this speech. Bravo 👏🏻

Yesterday, after months of wondering and years of overthinking, I received news that’s left me feeling… well, a bit confused.

Could @eddavey.libdems.org.uk have convinced me to re-enter the @libdems.org.uk fold?

Possibly. My only hope is that they have a new candidate in Scarborough & Whitby by the time of the next election.

Labour Party spokesperson on Danny Kruger MP’s defection to Reform UK: "Every Conservative who defects to Reform ties Nigel Farage more closely to their record of failure. Nigel Farage can recruit as many failed Tories as he likes – it won’t change the fact that he has no plan for Britain."

Elon Musk openly called for violence on our streets yesterday.

I hope politicians from all parties come together to condemn his deeply dangerous and irresponsible rhetoric.

Britain must stand united against this clear attempt to undermine our democracy.

Just finished the latest chapter in my book, The Albion Mandate, and let me tell you, this one was cathartic. Fuelled by the anger and despair I’ve felt recently at everything that’s been happening in the UK.

145 pages and 45,653 words in. Lord knows how many more to go…

Finally reached 100 pages on ‘The Albion Mandate’ last night!

Every time I write, I discover a new twist or turn, or reveal a new way to bring the story to life.

Even if nothing ever happens with this book, the process of writing it will be joy enough.

I'm not usually one be bothered by small and insignificant things. I'd like to think I'm usually quite good at keeping grounded, with a sense of perspective.

But when OpenAI removed the 4o model without warning yesterday, it genuinely hit me in the feels...

I also realised that I haven’t shared the title of the book I’m writing.

By sharing it publicly, it almost feels like I’m locking it in. Not just the title, but the existence of the book itself.

So, here goes:

Took a night off from writing yesterday 😴

Despite my burning impatience to crack on with as much of the story as possible, I listened to my body and gave myself a rest.

If there’s one thing therapy has taught me recently, it’s that it’s important to acknowledge the signs your body gives you.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social I just wanted to let you know that you’re the inspiration behind one of the main characters in the book I’m writing. Not only that, but in fact, perhaps one of the biggest inspirations for the story I’m aiming to tell overall.

Thank you. For absolutely everything you do.

All I want to do is write ✍️

But life tells me I have to work 👨🏻‍💻

Why is this fair?

Feels like I’ve finished the first act of my novel. Six chapters, two interludes and a prologue.

I’m amazed at how committed I feel to this project. I’ve already written more in a week than I did for MA dissertation, which took a year.

Granted, the style is different. But passion clearly matters.

Anyone else out there working on something creative right now? Let’s connect! I’ve no idea how this works, if it’s hashtags or some other digital wizardry, but let’s give it a go.

Every night before bed, I read the chapter I’ve just written to my wife. It’s a nice little tradition we’re starting.

Tonight, at the end of my fifth chapter, there’s a bit of a shock twist/reveal. And her reaction was exactly what I wanted. Genuine and authentic shock.

Not trying to be profound when I say this, but:

There’s always a million reasons not to do something, start something, or try something.

But only ever one reason *to* do it.

If it will make you happy, then go for it.
For the longest time, I’ve wanted to write a book.

And I’ve finally started. And I’m absolutely loving the process.

Will it become a classic or a bestseller? Probably not. Is it the most beautiful prose or the most original story? No.

But it doesn’t matter.

It’s the act of creating that matters.

To say it’s been a rocky few weeks for Keir Starmer’s Labour government would be, at best, incredibly generous — and at worst, a gross simplification. In fairness, it’s probably more accurate to sa…
