Trump called Norwegian minister to ask about Nobel prize.

He bombed Iran; wants to takeover Greenland, Gaza, Canada, Panama; inflicted violence on US citizens; destabilised world economy.

The man-child is no Mandela or Mother Teresa. Nobel Prize would be devalued if given to Trump.

Delete your old emails to save water during drought, Environment Agency tells Britons.

This is desperate.

How about building new reservoirs; renewing old pipes; not contaminating rivers with sewage; building a national grid, ending privatisation.

Right wing coup = profits for corporations.

Services privatised.

Adult social care, profit margins of up to 42%.

Privately owned cataract surgeries, profit margins 32% - 43%.

Children’s care homes average profits of 23%.

Public money buys less. Higher taxes to pay for corporate profits.
How we can fight back against the right-wing coup
For a better future the power of corporations and wealthy elites must be curbed and reversed

Women born in the 1950s — including thousands in Coventry — were robbed of their pensions.

This historic injustice, confirmed by the Ombudsman, has left many in hardship. Fair compensation is overdue.

Today, I stood with them, as I always will, and voted to right this wrong.

We can rebuild the NHS without privatisation. We do not need to involve private companies in the delivery of patient-facing public healthcare.

The only people who benefit from NHS privatisation are private company shareholders 🚨

5.2m children, 36% of UK children, live in poverty.

Ending the two-child benefit cap would lift 500,000 out of poverty, cost £2.5bn.

Taxing capital gains at the same rate as wages raises £14bn.

Govts that gave £895bn QE to speculators, can also end poverty.

We don't need think tanks, or right wing politicians to tell us what the NHS needs.

1) invest in the NHS to repair years of underfunding.
2) cancel/pay off crippling PFI
3) end privatisation and outsourcing to stop money going to greedy CEOs
4) pay NHS staff a fair wage to fix the staffing crisis

Those of us researching this have been consumed by this debate, but most of it has been under the radar. Alice Speri has done an excellent job of reporting on the ruptures and getting many on the record.

For @theguardian.com I wrote about how Gaza has split the academic field of genocide studies.

As one scholar put it, “Where can the field stand if scholars from within and around it are unwilling to call the behaviour out?”

My friends, 2025 is going to be rocky. But one thing I know for sure is that some incredible people put a huge amount of care, craft, love and rage into writing books that will soon be published that are going to help us make sense of this broken and beautiful world.

Most people don’t even know what an SEZs and Freeports are, designated jurisdictions with separate laws and regulations from the host country.
