I still can’t quite believe I fell over this morning and lost my shoe down a storm drain in Dallas. I mean, what are the odds?!

Sod’s Law: we haven’t seen the sun for weeks, we’re just arriving at Heathrow for a trip to see family in NZ, and look what has appeared!

Normal summer river flow round here is around 6 m3/s. Kayaking at the weekend will be… interesting.

I saw it too!
Glowing orb in sky above London. Origins unclear.

I do this all the time…
I’ve said “right” about 10 separate times this morning in a bid to get myself going. It’s the British person version of repeatedly yanking the starter cord on an old lawnmower.

All very well being sarcastic, but it’s cold! 🥶🥶🥶 😉
Don’t forget to post a photo of the temperature on social media today, whether it’s a screengrab from a weather app or a photo of your car dashboard (or even from some kind of fancy indoor weather station). Add this “🥶🥶🥶” before you post it, obviously 👍

For Maths fans, 2025 is a square.
45² = 45 x 45 = 2025
Also,
9² x 5² = 2025
40² + 20² + 5² = 2025
My favourite?
1³+2³+3³+4³+5³+6³+7³+8³+9³ = 2025

This is our household today!
It’s one of my revised bin days tomorrow. Recycling - a big one. I’m pumped. I’m ready. I’m full of adrenaline. I won’t sleep tonight.

After an enormous e-mail blitz this afternoon, my inbox is down to fewer than 100 messages for the first time in years. It’s a Christmas miracle!

It took me till it was dark and you couldn’t see the weather any more to pluck up the motivation for this year’s Christmas lake swim. In the end it was rather nice in the dark with all the pretty lights 🎄 (though still take my breath away cold, and correspondingly rather brief!)
