The thing I hate about the "AI is democratizing art" argument is that art has always been democratized. That's what ""bad"" art is. You think I would *choose* to draw like this? No, my body cannot extend all the way to grasp the divine. And so we get to see the roadmaps we take that get us elsewhere

Multiple sources are now reporting LLMs aren't scaling as hoped—larger datasets and more compute aren't improving AI systems as fast.

The companies, naturally, are pressing on, calling for billions more in investment. One way to read this: The hope is to make AI too big to fail.
