This was a great conversation with Angela tonight, shining a light on human rights and unpaid carers. Key takeaways for me included her call to stop sentimentalising caring and politicise it instead, and for carers to not be fearful of using the language of human rights.
Following her lecture on "Equity: Today and Tomorrow", Professor Angela O'Hagan is in conversion with Claire Stevens on the rights of carers tonight at Edinburgh City Chambers, marking the 60th Anniversary of Carers UK in Scotland.
