@Peterlewis55.bsky.social great chat with u tonight on some very important subjects. Hope u don't mind me screenshotting thrm here as a continuation for any1 who may have caught my original post at the start. It was a good thinking exercise, even if we didn't change the world.

Compared to London, there's a lack of science awareness in the North.

A fascinating science, & I like this plasma photo they used to illustrate the physics & energy for the #Fusion Pilot Plant (FPP) programme results from ST40 #tokamak @aip-publishing.bsky.social Division of Plasma Physics (I think correct?)

I can't find the copyright info for picture but will later.

Simply Put...

The reason why I'm still using Twitter today.

Over the yrs on that platform, I've written threads on subjects I've studied & have experience in, whilst making valuable connections with like minded people who also still use it, so I'm not using it because I want to endorse its owner.

I'd noticed Cloudflare froze half the internet this morning!

Interesting timing though not subjects I'd post online but a few news stories out this morning seem to be possibly related, some local, some international but I could be wrong

Interesting times...

A Gap In The Leap

Sir Professor Roger Penrose's #mathematical #physics, suggests science hasn't yet found a definite way to understand the human brain on a quantum level, much less how it thinks & the mind as a concept in itself. This is important today.

Advances in AI are leaping without thought.

Link to the other platform, to a thread I wrote about the day I spent at Sir Patrick Moore's house that was a great day full of #astronomy & lovely ppl, but who many now sadly, like Patrick, have since passed away but their legacy lives on with superb memories I'll never forget

A yr after spending a day at astronomer Sir Patrick Moore's house, I attended an astronomy presentation on his work, in London at the Royal Institution - 1 presenter was Dr John Mason. Link to screenshots of vids & link to 1 of those videos I took of it. @rigb.org photos.app.goo.gl/LmCyS8p5jfP3...

Yrs ago 1 night after heavy rain, I was driving through Wrea Green, a village just outside my town & noticed the fields nearby were flooded & I got to this piont travelling Southwest (circled) but I had to stop, as flood water was on the road. I couldn't drive through & (continues -> #StormClaudia

I didn't realise this until now whilst checking my mobile phone very casually because I hadn't expected it, this photo of the #aurora I took, was very much impromptu but it captured the green hue of #AuroraBorealis at the front of my house! #sunspot #Geoscienc #NorthernLights #SolarFlare #solarstorm

The #aurora bar chart data peaked this morning to possibly some more activity tomorrow. Not sure of ACE EPAM proton rate yet. Here are 3 quick sketches of an #AuroraBorealis I did on my mobile phone a while ago using my imagination: #sunspot #Geoscience #CME #NorthernLights #SolarFlare #solarstorm

Got up to visit bathroom then had a quick check outside - only this video of #stars & the Moon but in the background possibly some #Auroraborealis Aurora Borealis, Northern Lights #NorthernLights #geomagneticstorm #SolarStorm from a slight warm hue above & to the North of the #sky. #Astronomy #space

Though loads of ppl only want to show off their wealth, expensive holidays or appreance. Maybe it's the key to getting more followers on SM because the algorithms are geared towards it but if not, there must be an evolutionary reason & for me, it's totally fascinating from a scientific point of view

Ref the other platform, so my apologies including it here if you've left there, but this is a screenshot of Grok's amusing interpretation on the physics of the whimsical world of neutrinos thread I wrote originally on that platform (1st link), of which I copied here (2nd link).

Moon through clouds...
November 9, 2025 at 4:30 AM
I've just woken up & feel a bit hungry! Might grab a snack (not that it'd do much for me as I'd burn it off quick)but then I'm thinking of having a quick glance at the dark sky too from a window(assuming there are no clouds) & it's also just an excuse to do some more astronomy.

Hya Marcus.

This is what I like about the science called physics. I recently wrote a whimsical thread on this subject (linked).

These particles have very intriguing properties...

Thanks for sharing!

Just to add, I've also got a remote controlled Mini Helicopter but forgot I'd left it on a shelf in a bag on its own, so I'll get that out & add it to this collection & a photo of it in the next wk. I've probably got more small model airplanes stored away too but smaller in scale & type. This is most

- continuing my collection of grown up toys (childhood hobby), these are my remote (& 2 radio controlled) cars & buggies I bought over recent yrs. Unlike model airplanes I used to play with when I was younger as in my previous tweet, I didn't have remote controlled cars so this is a more recent set.

Short Thread

The rare times I'd spend with my Dad after my parents divorce mid 70s, we'd go to a park & play with model aeroplanes (usually Balsa Wood & elastic band types) & I made paper aeroplanes at home. Here's my collection I dug out a few days ago I bought yrs ago (amongst other items).
